SixSq presents at EGEE UF / OGF25 on cloud computing and grid convergence
Charles Loomis, from SixSq, presents this week at the joint event EGEE UF / OGF25 the results of a comparative study between Grid and Cloud computing. This study highlights the commonalities and differences between the two technologies and puts forward the case for convergence.

This presentation is part of the session "From Grids to Clouds, a workshop for Grid users facing the Cloud", which aims at clarifying the "Different Views of Cloud Computing", as confusion exists in defining what a cloud is, which might be an obstacle to its adoption from the grid world.
Charles Loomis will also present the first results from the new StratusLab collaboration on feasibility of deploying an EGEE grid site in the Amazon cloud (see session "Novel Services and Technologies").
